Transformation and enhanced living as a result of practical solutions from someone who understands the complexities of the different and unique brain wiring that is ADHD.
A big part of what we bring is an unconditional acceptance for the individual and a powerful appreciation for their difficulties and their strengths. Often, we need to help them to reveal their strengths and have a better appreciation for themselves.
Therapy presumes the person has a psychological ailment. Coaching presumes the client is whole, capable and resourceful and whilst you might not be feeling good right now, you are going to get there. Nobody knows your symptoms, circumstances, and situation better than you understand yourself and a Coach is trained to help extract the answers you have within you.
In therapy, you heal the past. In coaching the past can be instructive but we are focused on forward momentum and practical solutions. If you can’t get past your past, that indicates you need therapy.
ADHD Coaching is specialised in that we are trained to understand the specific Neurobiology at play and how that might be tripping you up. We view your issues from an ADHD Lens that enables us to collaborate on solutions that take account of your quirks and will therefore be more effective.
The benefits of coaching are often immediate and measurable even from the first session. However, it takes time to develop and cement new habits and ways of thinking. How long you work with your coach will depend on your specific set of needs and the circumstances in your life at the time.
I have a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Sussex and went on to train in ADHD Coaching at ADDCA.
ADDCA is internationally recognised as the gold standard of ADHD Coach training. ADDCA holds the highest accreditation status from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC).
Continued professional development is important to me and I regularly undertake learning experiences to develop my knowledge and practice, recent studies include:
- Trauma and ADHD
- The role of ADHD in addiction and addictive behavioural traits
A diagnosis is useful if you want to try medication but is it not needed to commence Coaching. The shortage of specialist psychiatry services often means a long wait for a diagnosis but you don’t have to wait to seek help. Coaching is available now and has the potential to significantly improve the quality of your life.
All meetings are currently via Zoom.
Why not book a free 30-min consultation so we can meet to talk about what’s possible, and you can get to know me and see if you would feel comfortable working with me?
